Peak Tournaments is an organization that specializes in online broadcast and event production revolving around the Super Smash Brothers Ultimate space. Our events catered to thousands of people and consisted of online weeklies, online majors, monthlies, and more.
I founded this organization and led a team of ≈10 people in event planning, management, broadcast, graphics, and content. Our tournaments were hosted on Smash.gg (now start.gg). Our weekly tournaments occurred every Friday and in it’s peak averaged ≈150+ people. We produced and broadcasted these events to twitch. Additionally, we co-organized and broadcasted online majors with 1000+ participants. See more specific details outlined below!
The online weekly was the mainstay of our organization. Through these events, we reached thousands of people globally and build a community of 1000+ people through discord, twitch, and youtube. Each week I operated as head of the production, running the tournament broadcast, and the bracket. Additionally, I coordinated broadcast talent and delegated work to other members of the team.
The Peak Summer Circuit was a 10-week-long event run in 2020. The circuit consisted of online weekly tournaments where participants could earn points to qualify for a grand finale. This event drew in over a thousand unique players with hundreds returning each week. In addition to organizing and running brackets, we created a new set of graphics for the event. This was our largest project apart from the peak weekly.
In addition to the peak weekly and the peak summer circuit, we organized and produced some of the largest online majors of the era. See some of the events we worked on below.
